Game of Thrones creator George R. R. Martin recently spoke to the future of HBO’s hit drama, teasing the possibility of a prequel series.

“I do have thousands of pages of fake history of everything that led up to Game of Thrones, so there’s a lot of material there and I’m writing more,” Martin said backstage after the show won the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series.

Game of Thrones recently broke the record for number of Emmy Awards won by a primetime series. In 2016, it took home the coveted Best Drama Series award, as well as 11 other Emmys.
